Research Interests
My main areas of interest are Macroeconomics, and Banking management. The title of my PhD thesis, defended in December 2006, was “Monetary policy of the NBR and the disinflationary process in the light of the European integration”. After I defended my PhD thesis in 2006, I continued to be focused in my research on European integration issues, especially on convergence and euro adoption process. The second main area of interest in the research I performed after I defended my PhD thesis is related to the estimation of the Balassa-Samuelson effect in Romania. Another topic I was focused on in my research activity after I obtained my PhD was the sustainability of the current account deficit in Romania. Another important area of interest in the research I performed after I defended my PhD thesis is related to the monetary policy design in the European integration process and the fiscal policy design and conduct. A special topic I covered in my research performed in the last years is related to the State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) reform.
