Description:

The aim of this course is to provide students with a firm understanding of the structure and operation of the foreign exchange and short-term interest rate markets. The module has a strong practical flavour.

  • Deposits, Treasury Bills, Bank Bills and Other Traditional Cash Instruments.

  • Money Market Derivatives: Forward Rate Agreements (FRA) and Money Market Futures. Cash vs. FRA/Futures. FRA vs. Futures.

  • Money Market Transactions: Outrights, Repo, Reverse repo

  • Spot and Forward Exchange Rate Quotes. Cross Currency Exchange Rate.

  • FX Swaps and Cross Currency Swaps.

  • Foreign Exchange and Money Market Arbitrage.
